Padel training for two: four drills with clear roles.
Only two players available? Use your court time for controlled repetitions, defined target areas and short points instead of asking one person to cover a full doubles side.

Agree the playing half first. Begin cooperatively, add points later, and rotate both roles and diagonals.

Define the space and restart
On a doubles court, agree a diagonal or straight half as your practice area. Decide whether lines count and when to feed again. This is a drill condition, not an official singles rulebook.
Warm up gently. Remove loose balls from movement paths and use flat, safe target markers.
1. Cross-court control
Start at the back in opposite diagonal halves. Build ten controlled contacts together; an error restarts your shared count.
Then play to seven in that diagonal and switch sides. Easier: slower feeds. Harder: vary depth before adding speed.
2. Volley and glass
One player works at net, the other at the back. Feed reachable deep volleys; use the glass when the rebound provides enough space. Restart an unsuitable feed.
Count eight calm returns together and swap after two minutes. Assess spacing and control rather than volley power.
3. Choose lob or chiquita
The net player varies shorter and deeper feeds. The defender chooses high or low and briefly explains the choice afterwards. Initially end each repetition after that response.
Swap after ten feeds. Progress to an open point inside the agreed half; do not automatically follow a weak attacking ball.
4. Serve and return
Serve diagonally and return into a large agreed target. Begin with just these two shots so both players can observe placement.
Swap after ten starts, then add a controlled first volley. Record successful starts out of ten and change only one difficulty at a time.
