APN and ranking are different

The Austrian Padel Number is a dynamic 1.0–8.0 playing-strength rating used for eligibility. Ranking points determine national position from a player's best 12 results over the previous 12 months.

Austria's 2026 APN categories

New registrations start at 1.0. Every ranking-relevant match changes APN, with stronger opponents producing larger movement.

Official ranges are Starter 1.0–2.5, Advanced 1.0–4.5, Expert 2.5–5.5, and Professional or Elite from 3.5. Mixed Starter is 1.0–3.0. Newcomer is not one fixed APU category; organisers publish narrower Starter ranges, so the event listing is decisive.

Entering your first tournament

Start with a workshop, fun event or Come & Play session if you do not yet have a fixed partner. For a first ranked event, choose a Newcomer-labelled Starter draw with a narrow APN range.

Both partners must fit the listing. A trial licence can cover the first event under the 2026 rules; APN updates after completion and ranking points should follow within five working days.

What is Premier Padel?

Premier Padel is the official global professional tour governed by FIP. It launched in 2022 and became the unified official tour in 2024 after World Padel Tour integration.

Majors award 2,000 winner points, P1 events 1,000 and P2 events 600; the Finals close the season for leading pairs. Use the live calendar because tour dates can change.
